I am in the Air National Guard now. Is there any way I can wear my LRRP patch and EIB patches on my BDUs. I have been unable to find any one who is even able to determine if I can or not. Now, as a base education/training manager of my squad, I have been unable to find out even much from the official regs. If anyone knows, thanks! TSGT Mark E. Foster

I found this site while working on some research for a speech that I am going to be doing in the LRRP'S and Rangers in the Vietnam War. I also found a picture and information that I have been searching for for years. My son's grandfather is the brother of Larry Scheib. This site is great.

First off, I would like to thank you for putting together such a wonderful site for wonderful people. Being as young as I am (compared to you guys - ha!) - being naive about this war. Me, personally feel I should be ashamed that our country overlooked what you men did, saw, and had to endure, regardless what it was for. I will never forgive myself for coming home one day from school asking my daddy why he killed people, especially children, I still see his facial expression in my mind. Being young and dumb, not knowing what he and everyone had been through. As of today, I am reading all the books my father has given me to understand better of your lives. And I assure you that my children will know what you did for your country and they will be proud to know of you. I know my words cannot take the pain, anguish, and nightmares away, but I would like each and everyone of you that fought and those that died - Even though I could never imagine what you felt, experienced , or had to cope with still to this day - my heart goes out to you all. The poems by Monfrooe were the most touching poetry I have read. One Shot, One Kill made me realize that even though that was decades ago, time doesn't heal all wounds, and the hellish nightmares do not go away. Also I would like to personally thank each of you that were beside my dad those days and because of your team work he made it back safe - also this allowed me to be born in 1972. For this I am extremely grateful. Not to mention, how many grown women can show all her friends her dad's ass on the internet. One more and probably the most important for my dad - Dixie dog - growing up he would tell me about Dixie dog and if it wasn't for Dixie dog my dad would have never found you guys! People like you guys are the reason I am proud to be an American. Thank each and everyone of you!

We stand at the threshhold of a new America which will demand additional sacrifice from all. As veterans of the Vietnam War we must make certain that our kids will never have to face the lack of support, the lack of national resolve, and the disrespect that we suffered through a generation ago. When it's over and we have won the fight, their homecoming must be a universal welcome from all Americans. We should tolerate nothing less. Gary Linderer

Just wanted to thank all the brave and noble efforts made during that difficult time. Due to the luck of the draw (lottery) I did not have to go. God Bless each one of you for taking my place.
